FAQ
1) Am I able to customize my floor plan?
Yes, just about everything in the interior of a home can be customized.
e.g.
- Widen your entryway for wheelchair accessibility
- Brighten your hobby room with a skylight
- Pump up your media room with surround sound wiring & soundproofing insulation package
- Ask for details
2) Does Pleasant Homes have locations for me to set up a home?
Yes, from time to time we have lot's available in lease communities in our
service areas. Please speak with a Sales Consultant to find out what is
currently available.
3) Are manufactured homes built as well as the same site-built home?
Manufactured homes are built to provincial building codes specific to Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. In a lot of cases our homes are better built than a site-built home. (during construction, both interiors and exteriors of our houses are unaffected by all weather conditions.)
4) Is it possible to get a mortgage for one of your homes as a sitebuilt home?
Yes, any home, no matter what the method of construction, as long as the
owner also owns the land on which it is placed shouldn't be financed any
differently than a home that is site-built. If the home is being placed on
leased land there are many financial institutions that offer what's called a
C.L.I.P. (Chattel Loan Insured Program) Mortgage. Usually the rates for a
C.L.I.P. mortgage are similar to those offered otherwise.
5) What is the difference between a "Modular Home" and a Manufactured Home?
In our province all Manufactured Homes are built to the Alberta Modular Home standard. All Modular homes are manufactured, but not all Manufactured Homes are Modular Homes. In the U.S. and all other provinces, Manufactured Homes and Modular Homes are built using different standards. In Alberta there should be no reason to be concerned unless you are looking at homes that are not built in Alberta. For more information on this, please contact our office and anyone will be glad to help with this.

stories.

Yes, we take trades. Please call for details.
9) What kind of Residential Home Warranty do you offer?
Every SRI home features Comprehensive One-Year Warranty and a Ten Year
Major Structural Warranty.
10) How do your homes compare with other custom homebuilders?
Our custom factory built homes are built indoors, unaffected by weather
conditions (rainy/snowy weather), avoiding mold or damage to building
products from exposure. All construction is supervised by inspectors every
step of the way to ensure tighter quality control. This production line method
of custom home building offers greater environmental efficiency and is more
cost effective, saving you money - approximately 25% compared to site
built.
11) How far do you deliver, how many Kilometers are included in delivery?
We service Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia, however under special circumstances we will deliver to other places. Our prices are based on delivery within 100 miles or 160 Kilometers of Edmonton, AB. Please contact a sales consultant for more information.
12) Once I order my home, how long before we can move in?
Possession and occupancy may vary depending on the complexity of the
home being produced. In most cases we are able to deliver a home within 6
to 8 weeks from the time the order is confirmed. However, if you need
something quicker we always carry homes in stock ready to take quick
possession.
